Inspiration Friday

Howdy Rowdy Artsies!

I am so inspired by Zentagles® and Zendoodles.  Here is an explanation reprinted from the Enthusiastic Artist

What’s a Tangle?

“Anything is possible, one stroke at a time.”

Zentangle® is a delightful method for creating beautiful pictures using repeated patterns. Many find it addicting! It’s easy to learn, easy to do, is enjoyed by a wide range of ages and skill levels, and is used in many fields of interest.  Its small format and simple materials are unintimidating. You can take it anywhere (well, not underwater).
  • Think you can’t draw? A zentangle has no pre-determined up or down and is not intended to be a picture of anything.
  • Don’t have time? A zentangle can be completed in 15-30 minutes, giving you a sense of accomplishment.
  • Think you’re not creative? Zentangle is based on easily learned, repeated patterns.
Sakura (who makes the Micron pens used in Zentangle) has posted an article I wrote on the company website. They wrote: “Margaret Bremner, a Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT) living in Saskatoon, beautifully and succinctly describes Zentangle in “The Art of Zentangle” published by WHOLifE magazine.” You can download the one-page article here. The link is in the second paragraph.

The Zentangle art form and method was created by Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas.
