It has been a very long time since I have blogged. Life is good. Life has been busy. There has still been enough time to squeeze out some secret works of art that I would like to share with you now. Here is a new friend that wanted to come out to play.
And a bit of a closer look. What have you been up to?
When I started my blog back in 2012 I was truly a woman living on the edge of many adventures – One of them being ART JOURNALING. I came to WordPress because I wanted a consistent platform where I could come to share my creative works of art with others from all over the world. Additionally, I wanted to inspire others who had never made art before to fall in love with something I call “doodle meets diary” , and allow me to share this amazing phenomenon with them.
I regularly shared my own works of art and the beautiful creations of the friends I met while online. I developed inspiration Fridays, where I shared with my readers what inspired me that week, and even had a tutorial day where I taught my readers a technique they could take back to their art room and use in their own art journals.
We all know that life has a way of leading us in directions that we are sometimes not ready – sometimes down a path with many unexpected twists and turns. I experienced many changes at once such as: a new job, a chance to go back to University, and a wonderful new partner. The good news is that I never stopped creating art during that busy time…the bad news is…I just stopped blogging. Now I am ready to begin again and to learn more about how to make my blog more interesting and up-to-date. I can’t wait to begin this process and meet all those involved in the current blogging 101.
My first post back in 2012 was “The Fun Starts Now!” and now today I should say I am looking forward to the Fun Beginning Again!
Sometimes in all the cuffuffle of daily life I sometimes forget who I am. Today I needed to remind myself. I, Heather Gailey, am a colourful and creative creature! Now I have to mail it away because I painted the picture in someone else’s journal.
Who ever thought school would take up this much time?? NOT me!
A working mom with teenagers going back to University? I think I just need my head read. This week was particularly busy because we spent the weekend moving my other twenty “somethingish” daughters to a new apartment. It is sad to see them go, however it is great to reclaim our living room. My whole body is aching from the move. My Supervisor always says that would mean a “Smirnoff and Tylenol 3 time” for her. I am not sure I am brave enough to mix the two substances together. I will just opt for soaking in some epsom salts while drinking a cold beer.
Over the next couple of weeks it will be a busy time at school and I am going to have to back off on the Monday’s top tip and the Inspiration Fridays for now. They will return I promise, once things settle down a bit. I know that a professional blogger would be planning and writing their posts weeks in advance, but I would like to be spontaneous and share things will you as they arise. If I choose something inspiring a week before I give it to you…it is no longer inspiring me at that time. I like to stay current. I guess something has to give and for now it will be a bit of the blog.
I will be posting my journal pages as I complete them for my learning journal. Here are three pages minus the journaling page for session 3 (I just haven’t written it yet).
Have a great week everyone! Thanks for your patience and understanding
God Bless snail mail ’cause it is so exciting to stop at the box before I get home and find special mail tucked away that is NOT just bills. This whole being an adult thing sucks sometimes LOL.
Hi all! I promised the other day that I would share pictures of the art I received from my journal page swap partner from the Milliande site. Her name is Lucinda and she actually is NOT from California – she is from Missouri. Love trading art. Here are the pics.
